I seem to have missed what we were supposed to DO with the in-paper. I asked some people whilst at the library today, but no one gave me a definitive answer. Does anyone really know what they are doing, or are we all running blind?

i think we're all pretty clueless....all I know is that we have to prove that our person is the best candidate for this job....provide syllabuses.

No, but we ought to use as many as possible. The more classes your candidate can teach, the more likely it is that he/she/they will get chosen as a professor.

ok, think of your presentation like a job interview. You get one shot to convince the class your candidate deserves to be a professor at the school. Are they smarter than everyone else? More experienced? Have they done something that makes them unique and will make the class say "Wow, obviously that person has to be one of the teachers". That is what you are doing. The syllabi are largely secondary to your ability to prove your person needs to be recognized as one of the greatest people in their field.

For our presentations are we supposed to just read off of our in papers or come up with something different and new? Does anyone know if we should have a visual like a poster or whatnot?

As with ALL presentations, you should try and do something new or interesting that will entertain and educate others. I know its easier to just read your paper, but you are not going to have many opportunities to work on you presentation skills without having it associated with a grade. Experiment while you can.
